About Me
Hi! I’m Claire.
I grew up in a small northern suburb of Chicago, near the Wisconsin border. I’m a middle child and the eldest daughter. My parents are both lawyers, and my siblings are studying law and medicine.
So… yeah, sometimes I feel like the odd one out in my family -- but honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Musical theatre is my life’s passion. As long as I’m telling a story and singing a song, I’m happy. It’s me and my theatre degree against the world.
My parents taught me the value of hard work and perseverance -- to keep my head down and take one step at a time toward my dreams, even when they feel out of reach. Every step brings me closer. They also taught me not to seek approval from others, but to believe in myself when no one else does. I have big dreams -- dreams that I will reach someday. Until then, I’ll keep taking steps.
I love to read, especially fantasy series. I just started The Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb, and so far, it’s SO incredibly good -- I think it might be my new favorite series of all time. It has magic, dragons, and a heroic underdog story that makes me want to cry just thinking about it.
I’m also an accomplished baker -- meaning, I’ve accomplished baking several things. My most ambitious project was chocolate macarons, though cupcakes are probably my favorite thing to make because I can get really creative with the decorations. Decorating is definitely the best part.
Another passion of mine is songwriting. I love using the music theory knowledge I got from college to set my feelings to chords and make them rhyme. I accompany myself on piano and guitar -- it’s my truest, most personal creative outlet.
I have songs to sing and stories to tell -- so stay tuned. ;)
(P.S. I don't use AI I just have an obsession with em dashes.)
